Local businesses encouraged to enter business excellence awards
Bellarine and Surf Coast businesses should be inspired by the success of Oishi-m last year and enter this year’s Deakin University Geelong Business Excellence Awards, according to organisers.
The Torquay-based Oishi-m took out the coveted prize of Business of the Year in 2017 – as well as making it back-to-back wins in the Retail category.
Geelong Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Bernadette Uzelac said the number of Bellarine-based and Surf Coast businesses entering the prestigious Geelong Business Excellence Awards increases every year.
“The Awards promotes business excellence right across the region and I have been delighted to see an increase in category winners that are based in regional areas over the last few years,” Ms Uzelac said.
“The Geelong Business Excellence Awards are the longest continuously running business awards in Australia and provide an important platform to showcase local businesses that epitomise excellence.
“It was wonderful to see Oishi-m take out the top prize last year and to hear how owner Miyo Fallshaw and her team are building their brand on the back of that success.
“I would encourage any business based in the Bellarine or Surf Coast to enter this year’s awards for your chance to be recognised in 2018.”
Entries for the 2018 Awards officially close at 4pm on Monday 7 May.
The gala Presentation Dinner will be held on Thursday 26 July at The Pier Geelong.
