Local parks take the spotlight at industry awards
BIG4 Apollo Bay Pisces Holiday Park was victorious in the Peter Buttigieg Innovation Award category, while Bimbi Park, located in Cape Otway just off the Great Ocean Road, took home the Golightly Family Marketing Award.
The awards recognise excellence in Victoria’s tourist and residential parks, as well as the businesses that support them. The presentation event was hosted by GMHBA Stadium and was attended by more than 250 people.
CRPVic chief executive officer Scott Parker said BIG4 Apollo Bay’s undercover play space and sound and light experience, Cetus, defined what innovation in a holiday park looks like.

“This weather-independent attraction ensures guests enjoy a unique and memorable experience all year round, perfectly tailored to the seasonal nature of Apollo Bay. Featuring four immersive sound and light shows, Cetus celebrates the local environment in a magical and interactive way.
“Even the structure itself tells a story — inspired by the mythical sea creature, it combines sustainability with creativity. Cetus is not just an attraction; it’s a bold example of how parks can merge sustainability, innovation and guest delight.”
Surrounded by the Otways National Park, Bimbi Park is a place where guests can “slow down, reconnect and find a sense of calm in nature”, but it was the park’s marketing strategy that most impressed the judging panel this year.

Instead of simply showcasing cabins and features, the owners, the Fotinas family, began sharing the people, animals, stories and values that make Bimbi Park unique.
“From Bob the giant koala statue to Gino the runaway cow, their humour and character-driven content has captured hearts, sparked conversations and built a strong, memorable brand,” Parker said.
“The result? Deeper connections, stronger loyalty, new guests discovering the park for the first time, and old friends reminded of why escaping to the bush is always worth it.”
