THE Surf Coast Shire has awarded 14 local projects funding as part of this year’s Quick Response Grants program.
A competitive submissions process determined the recipients, with mental health, community gardening and emergency response projects among those to receive funding of up to $3,000.
Cr Tony Phelps congratulated all the successful applicants.
“We hope these grants, with quick turnaround time, can make significant differences across a great range of projects,” he said.
“The submissions received represented so much good work going on in our community.”
Art of the Minds, Deans Marsh Community Cottage, Torquay and District Landcare, Ocean Mind and Torquay Netball Club were among those to receive funding.
The Surf Coast Shire’s Quick Response Grants program is designed to assist community groups and organisations to fund equipment, upgrades or replacements.
Unsuccessful applicants have received information on other ways they might be able to seek support for their projects, including the council’s September grants round which is now open.
