A Torquay sign company is helping push the advertising industry in a greener direction, unveiling a billboard made entirely from recycled Australian materials.
DBM Signs recently installed a new billboard advertising the Surf Coast Arts Trail outside the Surf Coast Shire’s headquarters on the Surf Coast Highway.
The billboard is made from 100 per cent Australian recycled material, is PVC-free and was printed locally on the Surf Coast.
DBM Signs’ push to reduce the environmental impact of its products has been backed by a new 3.2m-wide hybrid UV printer at its Haystacks Drive premises.
Owner Simon Power said reducing the environmental impact of the business had become a major focus in recent years.
“This new printer has been a godsend,” he said.
“It’s come with a bit of a cost, but to know we are developing product that is better for the planet and non-toxic is really fantastic.
“It feels good to make a stand and be doing something good.”
