LOCAL fashionistas looking for a bargain buy had the chance to feast on pre-loved treasures at Torquay’s Feast Studios first second-hand clothing market on Saturday.

More than 300 people browsed 20 stalls of quality second-hand clothing from vendors looking to offload some of their wardrobes.

Popular items on offer at the Cylinders Drive creative space included women’s designer brand pants, floral dresses, men’s shirts and special bouquets of flowers being sold by Dear Prudence Flowers on the day.

Feast Studios co-founders Georgia Dodd and Lloyd Will were blown away with the community response and said the event would be “the first of many.”

“It was an absolutely huge success and just ran super smoothly,” Ms Dodd said.

“We had so many different people come down to the space and the stallholders all did so well out of the event as well.”

“The sentiment we got was ‘Oh my gosh, this is awesome, please do more of it’,” Mr Will added.

“Everyone was just super happy, and we want to just continue to grow it and extend it out.”

The Feast Studios pair aim to run the secondhand clothing market events either every month or six weeks as a way of contributing to a recyclable clothing economy.

“We are definitely going to do it on the regular,” Ms Dodd said.

“It’s exactly what we needed down here. There isn’t really anything like it.”

“We want this to be a destination on a Saturday where people can come and spend a few hours,” Mr Will added.

“The more laps people do of the space; the more people can experience the vibe of it all.”

Feast Studios also aim to add a food vendor and live music to the second-hand clothing market events in the future.

Expressions of interest for the new secondhand clothing market are filling up fast.
