LOOKING SMART: St Catherine of Siena Catholic Primary School shows off uniform
SOME of the first pupils of St Catherine of Siena Catholic Primary School showed off their new uniform last week, ahead of the 2020 opening of the school in Armstrong Creek.
The pupils visited the Warralily Boulevard site with principal Donna Bryce, who was excited to share another milestone towards the opening of the school.
“Since starting formally in the role at the beginning of term three, it has been wonderful meeting with students and their families and observing this impressive building evolve,” Ms Bryce said.
“We are thrilled with our uniform collection. A group of dedicated families have been meeting regularly for several months creating our school uniform design. Our colours, teal and navy blue, are inspired by the environment of Armstrong Creek. The uniform has also been designed to support our focus on active learning.”
“It is also exhilarating to be building the story of a new school from its foundation. We can design a uniform to suit our vision; we can identify the most passionate and talented teachers, create state of the art learning spaces. There is not any baggage from the past just an opportunity to serve the best interests of the children and the families of Armstrong creek.”
Enrolments for Armstrong creek have been strong and undecided families are encouraged to register their interest immediately.
Prep classes are almost full with a waitlist likely, but there is still space for students in other classes up to grade five.
St Catherine’s is under construction on a 2.8-hectare site. The $5.7 million stage one will include two-storey teaching and learning and administration areas.
Ms Bryce said shealso pleased to have been able to work with the architects to develop a range of outdoor education spaces including a Stephanie Alexander kitchen garden as well as a Ninja Warrior-inspired playground, an additional adventure play space and a hardcourt play area.
The school will be built over four stages and has been designed to grow to an eventual enrolment of 500 students.
