Lorne event celebrates women

INTERNATIONAL Women’s Day was celebrated in Lorne last week, with the Surf Coast Shire holding a free community event at the Lorne Country Club.
The event shone a spotlight on women in the arts in the lead-up to the Lorne Sculpture Biennale.
Special guest speakers at the event were award-winning Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander musician Jessie Lloyd and Lorne Sculpture Biennale artist Merinda Kelly.
