THE Lorne Football Netball Club (Lorne FNC) have raised $100,000 from their sell-out Celebrity Entertainment Night fundraiser to support the club and township moving forward.

Held on Friday night, (January 20) at Stribling Reserve Community Pavilion in Lorne, the event had a celebrity lineup for the ages, with 3x Grand Slam tennis champion Ash Barty, Geelong Cats premiership star Tom Hawkins, media personality Brian Taylor and comedian Paul Martell entertaining and enthralling the crowd.

Lorne FNC President Carly Enticott said the event absolutely “exceeded expectations” and crazily enough took one hour to sell-out.

“We were so lucky to have Brian (Taylor) host the event and Ash, Tom and Paul were just exceptional and so personable with their questions and their time,” Enticott said.

“Ash Barty for one, just had the whole room of 180 people just memorised and captivated.

“The venue was just fantastic and catered so well, the atmosphere was just terrific, and it had a great feel to it.”

One of the major fundraising prizes of the evening was an auctioned off Ash Barty racquet and photo opportunity which went for $20,000.

A host of other auctions also took place, with Enticott citing the “very generous” approach that all attendees had for the fundraising evening.

“All funds raised from the event will go back into the club, including the full ticket price because our caterers were kind enough to donate the meals on the evening,” Enticott said.

“The guests also all donated their time which was just amazing.

“The funds will certainly help us take the burden off our local community and help us tap into our holiday crowd.

“It won’t go to anything specific but will just make sure we continue to develop the great culture we have at the club.”
