Lorne P-12 College: Meet our new Principal
Shane has worked in a number of school environments, including Government, Independent and Catholic.
He believes that the Government Schools are the most willing to embrace change and considers it “a privilege” to now be in Lorne, which he sees as a true community school given the broad catchment is serves.
Shane and his wife, Sam, have three children and whilst currently living in Geelong have plans to move down the coast. He believes that a school like Lorne P-12 must have a “connection to community”. In his words, he would like to see Lorne P-12 perceived as a “destination school”, offering a full VCE curriculum. He would like to see the school grow in a managed way so that individuals do not lose their identity and the growth does not erode the unique qualities of Lorne P-12. As part of fostering connection to community, Shane will be promoting the community, not just the parents of students, to visit the school to witness “learning in action”.
This will be achieved through a series of open days where the community can actually see the teachers and students in the variety of learning environments that the school offers. Shane welcomes you to make contact to meet with him and discuss his plans for the future of Lorne P-12 college. Good luck Shane and welcome to Lorne.
