Maple Bakery’s golden one-year celebration
TORQUAY’S fine Canadian inspired bakery, Maple Bakery, last week reached its first birthday, giving out free coffee for a year to a lucky winner of their golden ticket competition.
Queues lined up at the bakery to try and get their hands on one of Maple’s signature beavertail donuts for a chance to bite in and find a golden ticket hidden inside.
“We wanted to do something really special to signify our one year anniversary and we though that it would be great to hide a golden ticket inside our signature beavertail donut to grant someone free coffee for a year,” executive chef Christopher Bart said.
“It’s a big way of giving back to our customers for their ongoing loyalty and support,” he said.
Mr Bart said the last year of business had been challenging due to the pandemic, however the journey has been filled with happiness and support.
“Opening during the pandemic was certainly challenging, however very rewarding at the same time,” he said.
“The support from the local community has been absolutely amazing and we have been so rapt with the feedback from locals as well as people visiting from Canada.
“It’s pretty nice to hear from visiting Canadians that the bakery makes them feel like they are right at home.”
Visitors will continue to enjoy the bakeries authentic and tasty treats that provide plenty of palatable goodness.
Maple Bakery can be found at 40/10 Cylinders Drive in Torquay and is open seven days a week.
