Maple bakes sweet treats for Canada Day
TORQUAY’S Maple Bakery flew the Canadian flag and amped up the sweet treats to celebrate Canada Day.
The Canadian-inspired bakery celebrated Saturday’s National Day of Canada with dishes of poutine, beavertail donuts, hoodoo butter tarts, clamato juice and plenty of maple syrup.
Staff members said the day was the busiest since the opening of the store in 2021.
To keep the Canada Day celebrations rolling, Maple Bakery will be selling poutine every Friday from 11:30am to 1:30pm.
Locals will also be able to get their hands on any of the select beavertail donuts, pecan and pumpkin pie tarts and maple bites specials.
Maple Bakery’s next special themed celebration is Bastille Day on July 14.
Specials will include macaroons, eclairs, canelle, mille-feuille and much more.
Maple Bakery can be found at 40/10 Cylinders Drive in Torquay and is open seven days a week.
