McCartney’s Tim Carson named Agent of the Year

McCartney Real Estate’s Tim Carson claimed the “Top Agent – Total Value Sales, regional residential” title at the REA Group’s annual Excellence Awards, a surprise achievement for the Torquay-based agent, who hadn’t expected to place among the top three.

“It took me a bit by surprise,” Carson said.

“I had no idea I was in the top three when I received the news.”

Initially reluctant to attend, Carson decided to go after encouragement from his team.

“Receiving the award was a proud moment,” he added.

The award marks a milestone for McCartney Real Estate, a family-run business that has operated in Torquay since 1952.

Carson credits his team’s dedication, particularly acknowledging his assistant, Kim Harrison-Riley

“I couldn’t do it without her support,” he said.

The award also recognised the personal sacrifices Carson’s family has made, with early starts and late nights.

“This award is as much theirs as it is mine,” Carson said, acknowledging his wife, Jo, and their three daughters for their ongoing support.

Reflecting on the industry, Carson said he doesn’t work with awards in mind but aims to achieve the best possible outcomes for his clients.

“We don’t do it for the awards. I just do my job to get the best possible price for my vendors,” he said.

Carson described the experience as “humbling” and said he’s “immensely proud” of his team’s dedication.
