Millions for major Geelong waterfront redevelopment

September 26, 2018 BY

Corangamite federal member Sarah Henderson celebrates the announcement with Royal Geelong Yacht Club commodore John Kint and general manager Phil Colessi, and young sailors.

THE federal government has announced an additional $3.5 million to ensure the eagerly anticipated Geelong City Deal is one step closer.

This new federal funding, which is on top of an existing $2 million federal commitment, will contribute $5.5 million to public infrastructure works and a wave attenuator to protect the harbour from incoming waves, ensuring a more enjoyable experience for those on land and on water.

Corangamite federal member Sarah Henderson said the investment included a redeveloped all-abilities Victorian Sailing School, which would provide young people including those with a disability with life-changing opportunities.
