More time for books at Armstrong Creek Library
AN INNOVATIVE new service will help locals access the Biyal-a Armstrong Creek Library outside of staffed hours.
The Geelong Regional Libraries Corporation is launching its Out of Hours program, an initiative that will extend library services across the area.
Members can complete a simple induction and then be able to borrow books, use study spaces, connect to Wi-Fi and get access to all services at a time suitable to them.
Inducted members will enter the Biyal-a Armstrong Creek Library building using their library card and PIN, providing a seamless and secure way for access.
GRLC chief executive officer Vanessa Schernickau said community feedback had suggested many found traditional libraries restrictive with work, study or other commitments.
“Libraries are evolving to meet the needs of modern life, and this initiative ensures our members can access resources when it works for them.”
The Biyal-a Armstrong Creek Library will be accessible outside of staffed hours from 8am to 10am and from 6pm to 10pm on each weekday other than Thursday (8pm to 10pm), from 1pm to 3pm on Saturdays and 12 noon to 2pm on Sundays.
