MUNRO GETS READY FOR ANOTHER GREAT RALLY
Torquay photographer Chris Munro will load up his lenses later in the year for another instalment of what he calls “the adventure of a lifetime”.
Mr Munro and his wife Kim (who will be navigator) will join a TV crew from WIN News Toowoomba in the “Media Mafia” vehicle in the Great Endeavour Rally and Super Endeavour Rally.
The June events will raise funds for the Endeavour Foundation, which supports more than 3,300 with a disability at more than 230 locations in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
The Great Endeavour Rally draws entrants from across over Australia.
The 2016 rally, which travels west from Ipswich to Uluru, starts on June 4.
The Super Endeavour Rally – which is only held every four years – will keep going from Uluru, looping south to Lake Eyre and heading back east to Stanthorpe via the Birdsville Track.
Mr Munro has been on 13 of the events over the past 10 years, and said the rally “just ticks off one bucket list item after another”.
“The best part is knowing you are travelling safely with a group of more than 100 people and supported again this year with a mechanical crew from the Australian Army, who work day and night on broken-down cars ready to head off again in the morning, and no-one is ever left behind.”
He said another highlight for the entrants this year was that three supported employees from Endeavour’s work sites across Australia would join the rally in what will be known as the “Party Bus”.
“The sheer delight on their faces is enough to know we are doing the right thing in supporting such a great cause.”
