Nature and community at Jan Juc Preschool’s heart
Embracing our environment and being part of the community are a major part of Jan Juc Preschool’s meaningful play-based kindergarten programs.
Surrounded by gumtrees, the large play area provides a range of activities for the children while native birds create a beautiful background chorus.
From swings and a climbing frame, to the vegetable garden and outdoor library, with so much to do it’s no wonder children can’t wait to get back to kinder the next day.
Each of the three dedicated rooms has a host of fun and educational activities.
And the ever-evolving nature areas highlight the children’s discoveries, which are discussed in great detail as a class.
The preschool also has a functioning kitchen where the children help prepare food from the garden as part of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program.
Held weekly for all four-year-old children, bush kinder is another highlight, with a chance for children to run and explore, climb and jump, search for and learn about Honeybrown Beetles and other insects, or make mud pies!
An invaluable asset to the preschool are our passionate teachers.
Each day they welcome the children with open arms, passion and enthusiasm, creating a sense of wonder, creativity and free thinking.
Engaging with the community is also a large part of Jan Juc Preschool’s philosophy.
A number of excursions and incursions throughout the year take children out of the classroom offering experiences that help expand the children’s knowledge and understanding of their world.
Enrolments for 2020 are now open, and close on June 16 2019.
