New fish cleaning table for Fishermans Beach

A SECOND fishing cleaning table will be installed this week at Fishermans Beach, helping more fishers get their catches from the water and onto their plate.

Installed in collaboration by the Victorian Fisheries Authority, Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority and Torquay Angling Club, the additional facility will help meet growing demand and improve the fishing experience for locals and visitors alike.

The second fish cleaning table will be located adjacent to the existing one and has the same design.

It will be plumbed into the existing sump system, with fish waste collected for composting,

Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks coastal reserves manager Caleb Hurrell said the the upgrades were another step toward making Fisherman’s Beach a top destination for recreational fishing.

“The tables will benefit Torquay Angling Club members and the thousands of keen anglers launching from Fishermans Beach every year.”

“The extra fish cleaning table will help more people have the facilities they need to enjoy the great outdoors.”
