THE new chief executive officer of Gateways Support Services has officially started in the role.

Rohan Braddy, who was appointed in mid-February, is well known to the disability sector and joins Gateways with many years of experience.

He is the president and board chair of National Disability Services, the peak body for Australian disability service providers.

“Gateways is an outstanding organization, with a long and proud track record of providing high-quality, person-centered services,” Mr Braddy said.

Mr Braddy started as CEO in late April and has joined the organisation at a critically important time as it focuses on its strategic positioning and financial sustainability into the future.

“I have a deep commitment to creating a world of opportunities with people with disability and breaking down barriers to support them to live great lives,” he said.

He said there would be a continued focus on the quality of services, and highlighed the importance of starting with the person we support at the center.

“We need to be constantly challenging ourselves: What supports and services do our people want? When do our people want them? Who would our people like their supports to be delivered by?”

Mr Braddy said his people-focused approach aimed to ensure Gateways always had sufficient staff, and staff with the right attitude, values, and skills.

“We will do everything in our power to attract and retain best staff.”

He also emphasised the significance of a laser-focused approach towards Gateways’ values.

“We will expect that these values are demonstrated in every interaction, with every person in every situation,” he said.

In a statement, the Gateways board said it was thrilled to have Mr Braddy at the helm, and looked forward to adapting to changes in the sector, increased productivity and boosted employee morale under his leadership.

Gateways chair Keith Baillie said Mr Braddy was chosen after an extensive and highly competitive selection process.

“This is an exciting time for Gateways as Rohan is a future focused, for-purpose leader who will positively impact how we support our participants and their families.”
