New IRB for Anglesea SLSC
THE Anglesea SLSC is thrilled to have secured a $23,500 grant from the Community Bank Surf Coast to purchase a fully equipped inflatable rescue boat (IRB) and motor.
The Community Bank Surf Coast donation will help members travel safely and efficiently across the coastline and Anglesea SLSC president David Marsh said the club was eager to put their new state-of-the-art equipment to use.
“Ultimately, it ensures the highest level of safety for those enjoying our coastal waters.
“It’s a big step for us and comes at a time when we’ve got some aging equipment that we need to roll over.
“This IRB is a much newer model, much safer and will form an important part of our rescue equipment.
“This support will allow us to continue to train up young lifesavers to be there best and thus improve our overall lifesaving operations.”
Community Bank Surf Coast community engagement advisor, Kelly Turner said it was fantastic to be supporting a fellow local institution who foster a sense of community on the Surf Coast.
“The volunteers eagerly embraced this support from us and are poised to make an even greater impact in safeguarding lives and fostering a sense of security along the stunning coastline.
The partnership between the two entities is not only a financial boost but also will serve as source of inspiration for the club’s volunteers.
“The club recognises our commitment to the community and shares in our enthusiasm for this collaboration.”
