New Torquay kinder to open later this year
The purpose-built OAC facility will have 130 places and will offer high-quality education and care for families in the local Torquay community.
Designed to feel natural and optimise on-site resources, the architecturally designed building features age-based learning environments tailored for babies from 6 weeks through to kindergarten and school readiness.
It is designed with a strong focus on sustainability and safety, and as a place to spark a child’s senses and invite curiosity and exploration.
“We’re thrilled to bring our Only About Children unique offering to the Torquay community,” OAC head of education Angela Ngavaine said.
“We believe that every day of the first five years of a child’s life matters to their development.
“It’s such an important time in a child’s development and we make sure to deliver everything they need to thrive”.
OAC has more a decade of experience in early years education and childcare, and operates more than 80 facilities across Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.
Features of OAC’s services include: OAC’s Grow curriculum, designed by in-house curriculum specialists and guided by the EYLF and Australian National Curriculum. It focuses on left brain logic, right brain creativity, health and wellbeing, and social development
An enhanced focus on physical activity, nutrition, and health, including speech, occupational therapy, and vision screenings
A two-year school readiness program tailored to each child, with ongoing family school readiness checkpoints
Dedicated, age-based learning environments designed to encourage the development of children from nursery to kindergarten ages
A seasonal, dietitian-designed menu with meals prepared daily by an in-house cook, including all meals from breakfast to a late snack
Inclusions such as formula, nappies, cot linen, sunscreen, and incursions/excursions, and
Daily communication with families via the Storypark App.
