New Year’s fireworks to go ahead in Lorne

FIREWORKS will be going ahead in Lorne again this New Year’s Eve following a huge response from the local community and businesses.

The Committee for Lorne and Lorne Business and Tourism Association announced this week they had secured enough funding through their online GoFundMe to enable two fireworks displays on December 31.

The first show will be at 9.30pm allowing children and families to view the display, and the second “headline” midnight show will welcome in 2025.

CFL member Pete Spring thanked the community and businesses for their overwhelming support.

“It’s a great outcome for Lorne. The level of support has come far and wide which is just terrific,” he said.

“A huge shoutout to Mantra Lorne, Great Ocean Road Real Estate and Lorne Aquatic and Angling Club in particular for being the three major supporters.

“Gladly, everyone has really come to the party, and we can’t thank them enough.”

Any leftover funds will go towards supporting another fireworks display in 2025-26.
