A POPULAR returning comedy festival has helped raised more than $2,000 for the Anglesea Football Netball Club.

The second annual Brooksy’s Comedy Carnival stole the show at Ellimatta Reserve, with Australian comedians Dave Thornton, Adam Rozenbachs and Elvis impersonator Mike Cole wowing audiences.

More than 80 people attended the second annual Brooksy’s Comedy Carnival at Anglesea.

Led by Hey Hey It’s Saturday personality Brooksy, the night of comedy, company and fun also featured raffles and silent auctions.

Organiser Ayesha McWilliam said the event was a massive success.

“To raise over $5,000 was an incredible outcome for our small little club. It was close to being a full sell-out.

Dave Thornton’s comedy prowess was a huge highlight of the evening.

“It was just a great night. There were so many laughs, everyone was in stitches. Not to mention the dancing. Elvis had everyone up and moving by the end of the night.

“To have nationally acclaimed comedians pretty much donate their time was just amazing.”
