Nippers converge on Cosy Corner for LSV junior carnival

HUNDREDS of Nippers again converged on Cosy Corner last week for Life Saving Victoria’s third junior carnival of the 2019/20 season.

About 1,200 Nippers from 21 lifesaving clubs across the state came together on Friday last week to take part in a range of events, including girls’ and boys’ surf races, board races, beach flags and wade relays.

Friday’s carnival was just one entry in a packed local LSV calendar for this season.

Under-12 boys charge into the water.

Coming events include a modified youth/senior carnival at Torquay on Saturday, January 12, the Masters Championships at Lorne on February 8, a full carnival at Lorne on February 9, a junior carnival at Jan Juc on February 15, the School Surf League at Cosy Corner on February 28, the Navy VSRL Surf Boat Carnival at Torquay on March 1 and the 2020 Victorian Lifesaving Championships at Lorne on March 21-22.
