NOMINATIONS are now open for the 2024 Victorian Sport Awards (VSAs), which celebrate achievements across all levels of Victorian sport throughout the past year.

Presented by the Victorian Government and Vicsport, the annual awards acknowledge contributions from grassroots volunteers to high-performance athletes who represented Victoria at national and international levels, including the Paris Olympics and Paralympics.

Vicsport chair Jason Hellwig said the awards provide an opportunity to highlight the efforts of the state’s sporting community.

“The premier event on the Victorian sporting calendar, it is a special night where we have the opportunity to honour the grassroots heroes who keep our sport and recreation sector thriving as well as the high-performance athletes who starred on the world stage at events such as the Paris Olympics and Paralympics,” he said.

A total of 18 awards will be presented, covering categories for athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, administrators, and media personnel, as well as initiatives aimed at keeping Victorians active.

The public is encouraged to submit nominations via the Vicsport website until Friday, February 14.

“In partnership with the Victorian Government, Vicsport is thrilled to once again recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our state’s sport and recreation community at the Victorian Sport Awards,” Hellwig said.

Following the nomination period, four finalists will be selected in each category by a panel of judges, with winners announced at a ceremony on Wednesday, May 14 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
