Say Ola to new ridesharing service on the Surf Coast
RIDESHARING platform Ola will launch in the Surf Coast in the coming weeks as part of the company’s national expansion.
Ola is touting itself as Australia’s fastest growing rideshare company and says, when the next round of regional locations go live this quarter, it will be available to almost 90 per cent of the country’s population.
Managing director of Ola Australia and New Zealand Simon Smith said the company was excited about expanding to the Surf Coast.
“Since launching in this country two years ago, millions of Australians have benefited from riding with Ola and it’s time we gave the same choice to people on the Surf Coast.
“We also want to offer drivers in the area the opportunity to make more money on their own schedule – whether it’s driving on the weekend, during morning and evening commutes, or just in their spare time.”
When Ola launches in the Surf Coast, it will offer new users 30 per cent off all rides for their first two weeks from sign-up, to a maximum of $10 per ride.
Ola will also give Surf Coast rideshare drivers who complete their registration before launch 100 per cent of the fare on every ride they take with the platform across a four-week period.
The ridesharing platform will also cover Warrnambool, Shepparton and Horsham when it launches in Victoria.
About 75,000 drivers in Australia and more than two million worldwide use Ola
The company was founded in India in 2011 by Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati.
