GLOBAL hitmakers OneRepublic are fired up and ready to rock at Lookout Festival in Torquay next weekend.

The Grammy-nominated pop outfit will headline the lineup at the Torquay Common on February 14.

OneRepublic has amassed more than 5 billion streams on Spotify alone and are best known for top hits including Apologize, All the Right Moves, Secrets and Good Life.

Their 2013 album Native was certified platinum, led by No. 1 hit and 41 million selling single Counting Stars.

OneRepublic released fifth album Human in 2021. The album included top hit I Ain’t Worried, which featured on the soundtrack of blockbuster film Top Gun: Maverick.

The momentum continued with Fire, the official song of UEFA Euro 2024, with Meduza and Leony.

Most recently, they released Chasing Paradise with Kygo.

Speaking exclusively to the Surf Coast Times ahead of the coming show, guitarist Zach Filkins said excitement was high to head to the Surf Coast.

“We honestly can’t wait. Every time we tour through that area it’s always sad to leave. Now that we can spend more time and see places we’ve never seen before, it will be amazing.

“We always tend to find good food, I am huge into wine too, so I’m excited to see how much local wine I can taste.

The Grammy-nominated pop outfit will be bringing their top hits to the Surf Coast.

“Certainly, we are probably going to want to come back to Torquay next year again right away. I think we will love it.”

Filkins said the band would be debuting a new song, Need Your Love, in Torquay.

“That’s going to be amazing to play for the audience as it’s our only new song that no one has heard before.

“It’s always a little scary, but by the end everyone is moving their heads and getting into it.

“Overall, the set list will be different and fresh, but at the same time we will be playing the songs everyone knows so they can really get involved with us.”

Filkins said having no rules with their songwriting had been paramount to more than 20 years of success.

“Where the best song shows up is what we are going to chase. Some other artists have more structure, but we tend to cross a lot of genres.

“As a group we laugh plenty, we like to travel and that’s what keeps us together.”

Joining OneRepublic on the event bill will be Perth rockers Birds of Tokyo, fellow native juggernaut Eskimo Joe, English singer-songwriter Freya Ridings and Aussie dance duo Sneaky Sound System.
