OPSM Waurn Ponds seen as one of the best

THE team at OPSM Waurn Ponds has received prestigious national recognition from Luxottica, as the global retailer recognised their best franchisees in Australia and New Zealand at an Excellence Gala Dinner in Sydney.

The locally-owned eyewear retailer was recognised for “Excellence in Local Marketing” among Australia and New Zealand practices. The accolade is assessed against business planning and growth, franchise citizenship, team leadership, customer service, learning and development and community contribution.

Optometrist Rowan Prendergast has owned the practice since 2012. He and his wife Sarah are also now significant local employers, providing jobs for 18 staff, including five optometrists.

“The Waurn Ponds team excelled in their category, showing fantastic innovation in customer service, and creative solutions to promoting their business among the community,” Luxottica Asia-Pacific vice president of marketing Milena Cavicchioli said.

Mr Prendergast said he was very proud of the team.

“Our leaders focus on ensuring that our team is respected and acknowledged for their efforts, knowing that they work tirelessly for every one of our valued customers and patients.”
