HEADSPACE Geelong is encouraging the community to pause, reflect and reconnect tomorrow (October 10) in recognition of headspace Day.

The theme of ‘Pause. Reflect. Reconnect’ aims to inspire young people and their families to take a moment to stop, breath and connect with themselves and others.

By pausing and taking in the moment, people can think of powerful ways to look after their mental health and wellbeing and find balance in their lives.

Tomorrow, headspace Geelong is partnering with Read the Play to spearhead the Serenity in the Stadium event at GMHBA Stadium.

More than 2,000 attendees will participate in a guided yoga session on the ground and enjoy breakfast items and mindfulness activities.

Geelong branch manager Tenille Favazza said headspace Geelong was delighted to be contributing to the Serenity in the Stadium event.

“This event perfectly captures this year’s headspace Day theme: pause, reflect, reconnect.

“Read the Play work hard to support the members in our community and we are honoured to be able to collaborate with them at this event.”

Read the Play chair Michelle Gerdtz said working with headspace will help amplify mental health impact across the region.

“headspace Geelong has long been a trusted organisation in providing mental health support to young people, and we are thrilled to have them join us in this event.”

Serenity in the Stadium will begin at 7am.

Each and every day, headspace endeavours to provide holistic care to young people experiencing mental health challenges, physical and sexual health issues and provide alcohol and drug support and work and study assistance.
