RAIN certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of more than 1,000 locals who turned out with their pets to the picturesque Mirambeena Park for Warralily’s Pets Day Out.

Sunday’s event featured pets of all shapes and sizes and a range of fun activations and workshops, live entertainment and food and beverages for humans and their furry friends.

Local golden retriever enthusiasts certainly made the best of the day, dressing their dogs in matching bandanas with special name tags to stand out from the crowd.

Another heartening presence on the day was the rescue dogs and their dedicated rescuers who hosted workshops and activations to promote adoption over shopping.

Injecting a dose of humour into proceedings was MC Dr.Nincompoop who entertained crowds with his eccentric antics and jokes.

However, the PETStock Pet Parade once again stole the spotlight, with more than 20 local pets strutting their best moves in front of a live audience.

Judges from Armstrong Creek Veterinary Clinic adjudged Pebbles the Dachshund as the overall winner.

Warralily estate manager, Lee Howard said the day once again lived up to its fantastic reputation.

“The weekend’s event certainly showcased the joy of our furry friends,” he said.

“Amidst all things cute and cuddly, the array of delicious food and beverages also ensured everyone was well catered for.

“The petting zoo continued to charm attendees, the Geelong Obedience Dog Club wowed the audience with an impressive display of agility and tricks and the Mini Vets marquee education children about the vital roles of vets and vet nurses.

“Make sure to look out for news on the next Pets Day Out soon!”
