People take to The Village
STORIES of some of the first people to call Warralily home have been preserved as part of a neighbourhood celebration for the grand opening of The Village Warralily on Saturday.
Residents penned reflections on their experiences and aspirations for sealing in a time capsule, along with photos, children’s drawings, newspapers and background on Warralily’s beginnings.
The family-focused event at the shopping centre on Barwon Heads Road included fun for children, competitions and giveaways. South Barwon MP (and Warralily resident) Andrew Katos helped to officially seal the time capsule, which will be opened in 25 years.
Entertainment included Sesame Street favourites Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Caddaby, Grover and Zoe, and a performance by the Mik Maks.
