April 17, 2019 BY

The burn was to take place across about 2,271 hectares.

PEOPLE in Lorne, Forrest, Deans Marsh and Colac may see or smell smoke from the ignition of the 2,271-hectare Neck Track and Wickham Track planned burn on Sunday April 14.

Taylors Road, Neck Track and Wickham Track were closed on Sunday and will not be re-opened until it is safe to access the area.

Speed restrictions will be in place along Delaneys Road and motorists are advised that minor delays may be experienced during the day.

This burn is focused on reducing the spread and intensity of bushfires near Lorne and surrounding areas. Forest Fire Management Victoria says it’s important for crews to take advantage of every safe opportunity to undertake planned
burns, which can sometimes occur during school holidays.

People experiencing symptoms that may be due to smoke exposure should seek medical advice or phone NURSE-ON-CALL on 1300 60 60 24.
