A MAN in his 50s has been taken to hospital following a hit and run collision in Mount Duneed this morning (Thursday, September 18).

Police are investigating the incident, with investigators told a white van was travelling south along a north-bound lane just before 6.30am.

The car collided with an Audi at the intersection of Armstrong Boulevard, before the driver fled the scene without stopping.

The driver of the Audi sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

This morning’s collision follows the death of a man in Lara last week, who police believe was struck by a vehicle who also left the scene.

Police are urging anyone with information or dashcam/CCTV footage to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at crimestoppersvic.com.au
