Police seek witnesses to Mt Duneed crash
POLICE are investigating a crash in Mt Duneed on Thursday that left a woman with life-threatening injuries.
Police said witnesses told them a white Ford sedan was travelling behind a red Mitsubishi sedan east along Lower Duneed Road just after 2pm.
It is believed that near Charlemont Road, the white Ford collided into the rear of the Mitsubishi, which left the road and crashed into a tree.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 25-year-old woman from Mount Helen, was flown to Royal Melbourne Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The woman’s young daughter in the Mitsubishi was also taken to hospital for observation.
The driver of the Ford, a 45-year-old Whittington man, was taken to hospital and is assisting police with their enquiries.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Police are keen to speak to anyone that may have witnessed the collision or the movements of the white Ford sedan prior to the collision.
