THE Anglesea Surf Life Saving Club is one of the winners in a $20 million federal economic package for the Geelong area, which was revealed yesterday (Wednesday) morning.

Visiting Geelong, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull announced that the club was successful in applying for $500,000 towards redeveloping its clubhouse from the Geelong Regional Jobs and Investment Package (RJIP).

The package is funding projects in three streams – competitive business innovation grants to grow jobs, new or upgraded infrastructure, and training to address skills shortages.

Speaking earlier this week, Corangamite federal member Sarah Henderson said it was a wonderful outcome for the Anglesea SLSC.

“They do an extraordinary job in the community, their redevelopment plans are very exciting, and this $500,000 will make a big difference.”
