GEELONG photographer Helen Green is searching for four-legged models eager to contribute to a fundraising initiative aimed at supporting local not-for-profit Don’t Forget My Pet Foundation.
The project will see the development of a coffee table book, filled with photographs taken by Ms Green of pups from across the region, in what would serve as a tribute to the love and loyalty dogs bring to their companions.
Community members will be required to make a $55 donation direct to Don’t Forget My Pet Foundation to have their pets featured in the book, and photo will be accompanied by a story, shared by the owners.

Once published, all proceeds from the book, along with five per cent of all photography sales associated with the project, will be donated to the foundation.
The newly formed Don’t Forget My Pet Foundation was established by Alysha McKenzie in January last year and provides food and crisis care to pets throughout Geelong and regional Victoria, to support those in need to keep their pets during times of difficulty.
Ms McKenzie said all donations made to the foundation would go toward providing those in need with these supports, which include veterinary care and pet “safety net fostering”.

“I just love what [the foundation does], supporting people that are really in need,” Ms Green said.
“They’re really building that care for people that really rely on their dogs.”
A self-described dog lover herself, Ms Green is hoping to raise $3,000 through the initiative, and encouraged those interested in supporting the work of the foundation to get in touch.
“It’s just beautiful to have photos of your dog that you can keep forever,” she said.
“I try and capture the personality of the dog, whether they’re crazy or very quiet or reserved.”

To help her achieve this, she said participants will be invited to fill out a short survey about their pet prior to the scheduled photoshoot.
“Don’t be worried if you think your dog’s going to misbehave,” Ms Green said.
“I’m used to all types of personalities.”
