ORGANISERS of last year’s Christmastime in The Quay event have thanked residents, sponsors and the community for making the event such a success.

“With the 12 Days of Christmas now over, Christmastime in the Quay ends,” The Quay Residents Association wrote in a media release.

“We all had a great time catching up with old friends and meeting new ones while walking the streets marvelling at beautifully decorated homes, watching outdoor holiday movies, and the fun of awards night for our residents’ best decorated homes competing for eight $250 awards to their nominated not-for-profit charity.”

The association thanked its business sponsors DBM Signs, Great Ocean Properties, Intrapac Property, Loan Mates – De Witt & Cruz, Perla Tacos Restaurant, Scentsy Candles and Warmers, SurfCoast Movers, the Surf Coast Times, The Quay Family Healthcare and The Salty Dog Café.

Awards will go to a variety of not-for-profit organisations, including Kids Plus Foundation, Motor Neuron Disease Association, Multiple Sclerosis Australia, Starlight Foundation, Torquay Men’s Shed, Torquay Surf Life Saving Club and White Ribbon Australia.

“And a big thank you to all residents decorating their homes!” the association wrote.

“Have a fun and wonderful memory-filled, safe 2019. Looking forward to our community events throughout 2019. We have a feeling Christmastime 2019 will be even better.”
