RACV Torquay Resort has come away victorious from this year’s Victorian Accommodation Awards for Excellence, taking home the title of regional Victoria’s Best Meeting and Events Space of the Year.

The awards, presented at a gala event in Melbourne last week, celebrate the best of Victoria’s hotels and acknowledge the venues that excel in providing their guests with a top-tier customer experience.

RACV Torquay Resort general manager Dean Newell said his facility was delighted to have received the award.

“We’re proud to have our team members recognised for the quality service they provide our guests.”

It marks the second consecutive year that the resort has won the award.

Kylie Hayles (left), a revenue analyst for Wyndham Resort Torquay, was crowned Revenue Management Employee of the Year.

He said the resort had been designed to accommodate a range of large-scale events from conferences and product launches to gala dinners and executive retreats, with its facilities boasting in-built, state-of-the-art audio-visual technology.

“The versatile event spaces on offer at RACV Torquay Resort include an expansive outdoor terrace, a ballroom with spectacular views and intimate boardrooms and we also offer beautifully appointed, luxurious accommodation rooms and suites.

“The unique location of RACV Torquay Resort, just minutes from the surfing mecca of Bells Beach, and [its] in-house facilities that include a fitness centre plus golf and tennis, provide the opportunity to tailor a range a team-building activities on site and in the local area.”

Wyndham Resort Torquay’s Kylie Hayles, who manages revenue for a portfolio of properties across the Travel + Leisure Co. network, was also recognised this year with the Revenue Management Employee of the Year award.

Travel + Leisure Co.’s vice-president of operations Duncan Mars said the travel company’s Victorian properties had seen impressive growth in revenue under Ms Hayles’ oversight and the recognition was a testament to her hard work and dedication.

“We are thrilled to have our work recognised by the Victorian industry.”
