Raffle to celebrate 10 years of Geelong Mums
TO celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Geelong Mum’s Mother’s Day Lunch, the non-for-profit organisation is running a huge raffle to assist in making the event the biggest in its history.
More than $19,000 worth of prizes are set to be up for grabs in the special raffle, which will run alongside the event at Mt Duneed Estate on May 12 to help Geelong Mums reach their overall fundraising goal of $250,000.
All funds raised through both the lunch and raffle will ultimately help to support the 6,000 babies and children that Geelong Mums assist each year.
The lineup of raffle prizes include a $3,000 Michael Hill white gold tennis bracelet, a 12-month membership at Fernwood Waurn Ponds with Reformer Pilates, a weekend getaway to the Otways at the Bush Barn, beauty and care packages and plenty of food and retail vouchers.
According to Geelong Mums head of operations and impact Julia Roache, the event was well on its way to being the most successful yet.
“The Mother’s Day Lunch is our biggest fundraiser of the year… we are are hopeful of making it the best one we’ve ever held,” Mrs Roache said.
“Because the actual lunch sold out in 10 minutes, lots of people couldn’t get tickets to attend in person – we thought the raffle would be another fantastic way people could support the cause.
“Ultimately by supporting us, locals are supporting the thousands of babies and mothers that we help each year. We can’t do it without our community.”
Mrs Roache said the generosity of the community has never wavered towards Geelong Mums, expressing that she was assured the support for the raffle would be no different.
“Based on the support of the physical event tickets, I’m sure we will be overwhelmed again by the way people embrace the raffle.
“We’ve got a total of 30 raffle prizes, which have all been donated by generous local businesses.
“Already, we are just so humbled by the support that we’ve received.”
