Registrations open for Lara Fun Run and Walk
REGISTRATIONS for December’s Lara Fun Run and Walk have officially opened as the event returns for its 14th year.
On December 1, runners and walkers will hit the track with the choice of taking on the 10km or 5km events with a 1km kids’ dash also included.
The event is suited to both seasoned runners and those looking to try something new.
Owner of PB Events and race director Justin Higgins said the event is often referred to as a family fun run with a distance on offer for everyone.
“The course takes participants through Serendip Sanctuary, on tracks that are off limits to the general public throughout the year,” Mr Higgins said.
The event usually attracts more than 700 runners and walkers, starting and finishing at the Pirra Homestead.
Mr Higgins said seeing people cross the finish line and receive their medals is always a highlight.
“I’m looking forward to showcasing a beautiful venue and creating a positive health event that all the family can get involved in,” he said. “This year, with the help of our fantastic sponsors, we aim to keep the entry fees lower than other events but still maintain the quality event features.”
Each competitor will receive finisher medals and a personalised certificate with the official finishing time, pace, place and more.
Registrations close on November 30, unless sold out prior. For more information or to register, head to pbevents.com.au
