THE Melbourne Renegades hosted their annual Family Day at the Geelong Cricket Ground in mid-December, with the men’s team playing a practice match and the women playing the Brisbane Heat for competition points.

The celebrations kick-started at 10am, with top tier cricket, giveaways, food and activities from Carsales, Nylex, TAC and Nickelodeon entertaining the kids.

Signed autographs from both BBL and WBBL leagues were a major highlight, with children taking home personalised tokens from their favourite players.

Renegades WBBL media manager Laura Macintosh said approximately 2,500 people attended the family day.

“Unfortunately, the Renegades went down to the Heat by 21 runs.

“Molly Strano was named Player of the Match in a losing side, taking 4-21 with the ball.”
