Rock2Ramp gears up for 2022 return
OPEN water swimmers are nearing a return to Anglesea’s Point Roadknight for the 2022 Burson Rock2Ramp race.
Around 1,000 participants are expected to tackle a host of events on Wednesday (December 28), which also attract up to 3,000 visitors for the family-friendly event.
First-time racers right up to seasoned professionals will be in the ocean for the post-Christmas occasion, which includes 200m and 300m Kids Dashes for children aged up to 12 alongisde traditional races of 600m, 1,200m and 2,500m.
Anglesea Surf Lifesaving Club hosts the event, which its says focuses on supporting social networks and encouraging participation in activities and events.
Co-race director Tom Cullen said organisers and competitors were both keen to get back in the water for the event’s return.
“After the challenges of the past couple of years, there is a real keenness to once again come together to compete.
“Events like the Burson Rock2Ramp Ocean Swim provide a place for likeminded people, of all ages, to come together.
“We race, we strive, we enjoy and most importantly we thrive through participation.”
Anglesea SLSC relies heavily on its volunteer network and partners with organisations such as Anglesea Motor Yacht Club, Go Ride a Wave, Big4 Anglesea, Anglesea News & Lotto, Love House and Anglesea Fruitz.
