ABOUT 80 people headed to Rocky Point Torquay on Sunday to celebrate the first birthday of the Bell Street eatery.

AFL personality Billy Brownless welcomed guests before he introduced Rocky Point owners Wayne and Denise Birch and Stephen and Lyndsay Dunstan to acknowledge the milestone.

Among those in attendance was Surf Coast Shire mayor Rose Hodge and president of the Torquay Football Club (which is sponsored by Rocky Point) Jenny Wood.

Wayne Birch paid thanks to the restaurant’s local suppliers, including Foodworks Lorne, La Madre Bakery, L and H Poultry, Peach’s Torquay, Blackman’s Brewery and Mount Duneed Estate.

Rocky Point now features inside and outside dining areas as well as a beer garden complete with open fire and undercover areas, providing a casual space for local families and friends to enjoy.

Both Stephen and Wayne said they would continue to support junior sporting groups through sponsorship programs.
