More runners take on Bells Bash

January 10, 2018 BY

LAST Friday saw the 15th annual Bells Bash Cliff Run take place along the cliff tops to Bells Beach and back in an eight-kilometre fun run or four-kilometre run/walk from Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club.

The course is challenging, but is regularly used by runners and walkers, overlooking much of the stunning coastline between the two points. Brad Papworth from Jan Juc SLSC said organisers were happy with the events popularity.

“Despite the hot weather our participation had increased by 10 per cent on last year, which is great to see. We had around 560 runners in total and everyone really enjoyed themselves. This year in the four-kilometre, our winner matched the record set in 2007, with a time of 11 minutes and 44 seconds.”
