SURF Coast local Nicky Buckley is taking on the challenges of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in South Africa’s Kruger National Park, with her sights set on raising $100,000 for Ovarian Cancer Australia.

Buckley, best known for her iconic hosting role on Sale of the Century, has embraced the adventure of a lifetime, tackling challenges, confined living, and life under constant camera surveillance. But her fate on the show now rests in the hands of her fans.

Her husband, Murray Bingham, said the family was missing her but proud of her efforts.

“We are very much missing our wife and mother, but she is looking like she is having a ball,” he told the Surf Coast Times.

He encouraged Surf Coast locals to vote early and often.

“You can vote up to ten times a day – before the show, after the show – whenever you can!”

Every vote counts, with fans deciding not only who stays in the jungle but who faces its toughest trials. Bingham said Buckley was ready to take on anything.

“Nic is all about getting the full jungle experience,” he said. “In my mind, that means any trial you can get her into, she’ll have a crack.”

Buckley’s chosen charity, Ovarian Cancer Australia, is deeply personal to her, having lost her mother to the disease two decades ago.“I am passionate about raising awareness for the signs and symptoms for women to look out for.”

“Ovarian Cancer Australia provides support in numerous ways to those living with Ovarian Cancer to ensure no woman diagnosed with the disease walks alone.”

Buckley admitted that stepping into the jungle took her far outside her comfort zone, but she embraced it as a unique opportunity for personal growth.

“Everything is unknown, we don’t know what to expect with the challenges,” she said.

“The confined living experience with strangers whilst being filmed with hidden cameras 24/7 is not something you can prepare for.”

Despite the challenges, Buckley remains focused on the positives of the experience.

“I’ve always enjoyed hearing past contestants speak about how their time in the jungle had taught them so many things about themselves that they never knew, I welcome this as a learning experience,” she said.

“I’m intrigued to see if I learn new things about myself.”

Fans can catch Nicky and her jungle adventures on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airing Monday to Thursday at 7.30 pm and Sundays at 7.00 pm on 10 and 10 Play.
