THE Community Bank Surf Coast will fund a $50,000 electronic scoreboard for the Anglesea Football Netball Club.

The scoreboard which include a clock timer and showcase sponsors and advertisers, takes the Community Banks funding in the Anglesea FNC to more than $100,000.

“It’s a proud night for us… our connection with Anglesea has always been very good,” Community Bank director Robert Cameron said

“This club is doing plenty of things right with their juniors, seniors and behind the scenes and that makes our arrangement even better.

“The club has been looking to improve the scoreboard for a couple of years and it’s fantastic that we’ve come to an agreement with Anglesea to fund the scoreboard to the tune of $50,000.

“It’s a need that is now and we are thrilled that our overall contribution to this club continues to be such a great investment for both parties.”

Chair of the Community Bank Surf Coast, John Knuckey said he recognised how important sporting clubs like Anglesea FNC are to the community.

“I’m very passionate about what we do and our ability to give back to the community like we have here at Anglesea.

“The club will get plenty of advantages out of the scoreboard including being able to sell sponsorship and advertising opportunities.

“The clubs that we have put electronic scoreboards at in the past have had a huge wins and we are sure it’ll be no different here in Anglesea.”

Anglesea Football Club senior coach Paul Nigro also welcomed the announcement.

“We are thrilled to secure this significant funding opportunity from the bank,” Mr Nigro said.

“We were the only club on the Bellarine that didn’t have a clock timer on our scoreboard, so to now have that will be super exciting.

“It’s an exciting time for the club.”

Over the past 20 years, the Community Bank Surf Coast has given back $3.85 million back to the community and community groups in profits.
