Shire councillors appointed to committees
THE Surf Coast Shire council has endorsed appointments of its members councillors to 17 key committees and regional/peak organisations, which will take on high priority issues for the rest of this year and into next year.
The shire says representation on these 17 committees and organisations will ensure the shire can engage with different groups and can advocate, represent and provide for the community.
Appointments cover areas including the local government sector, council advisory committees, culture and tourism, sustainability and health and wellbeing.
“Having representation on these committees and regional and peak organisations ensures Council can have input on a broad range of key community matters,” Cr Rebecca Bourke said.
“We review these appointments annually to ensure our involvement is relevant to our strategic goals, Council Plan objectives and community priorities.”
“I congratulate my fellow councillors for securing representative positions as we continue to work hard in advocating for the Surf Coast Shire.”
