No public question time at Surf Coast Shire’s council meeting

The Surf Coast Shire council is creating two new policies due to an update of the Local Government Act 1989.

THE Surf Coast Shire council will host a special council meeting outdoors on Tuesday, April 28 with the exclusion of public question time.
The council advised the special meeting would be restricted to items on the agenda and that no public question time would be allowed due to coronavirus restrictions. The council strongly advised people to stay home for their own wellbeing and safety.
This will be the first Surf Coast Shire council meeting in two months after state and federal governments enforced social distancing measures.
The Surf Coast Shire council will record the meeting via Zoom, with audio recording available to the public on the council’s website after the conclusion of the meeting.
Councillors will consider the adoption of the Draft 2020-21 Budget, quarterly financial statements, COVID-19 Support Package, including New Hardship Policy and CEO delegations, and confidential item an update on the lease agreement of the former Winchelsea Shire Hall.
The council advised the meeting would take place outdoors on the northern side of council chambers at 1pm.
The agenda will be made available at surfcoast.vic.gov.au before the meeting.
