Shire sets council meeting calendar

THE Surf Coast Shire has released its council meeting schedule for 2025, with meetings to be held in all wards of the shire.

The first council meeting of the year will take place next month, with monthly meetings to again be held on Tuesday nights.

The majority of meetings will be held in the shire’s Torquay offices, with the March meeting to take place in the Otway Range Ward and the August meeting in the Winchelsea Ward.

Otway Range Ward councillor Leon Walker said he was happy to see a meeting being held in both the Otway Range and Winchelsea wards.

“This is part of making the council and our decision-making processes more accessible to people across the shire.

“Watching these meetings is a great way for residents to see shire issues communicated and resolved whilst understanding the reasoning behind strategic decisions.

“The community is welcome to attend any of our council meetings either in person or online.

“They will all be livestreamed with live captions, plus you can watch the recording later.”

This year’s Surf Coast Shire council meeting schedule:

• February 25 – shire offices, 1 Merrijig Drive, Torquay
• March 25 – offsite meeting, Otway Range Ward
• April 29 – shire offices, Torquay
• May 27 – shire offices, Torquay
• June 24 – shire offices, Torquay
• July 22 – shire offices, Torquay
• August 26 – offsite meeting, Winchelsea Ward
• September 23 – shire offices, Torquay
• October 28 – shire offices, Torquay
• November 25 – shire offices, Torquay, and
• December 9 – shire offices, Torquay.

All meetings will start at 6pm.

The exact locations of offsite meetings to be confirmed closer to the meeting date.
