Shoalhaven to get spooky for Halloween
THE local community is encouraged to celebrate the spookiest time of the year at Warralily at its new Shoalhaven Park in Mount Duneed.
On Sunday, October 30, locals will have the chance to get into their best spook-tastic costumes and be spoilt with plenty of special Halloween tricks, treats and activities to mark the special holiday occasion.
The day is set to feature loads of spooky fun activities with themed face painting, a photo booth, and wicked prizes for the Halloween Costume Competition.
For mountain bike enthusiasts and bike riders of all ages and stages, the visit to Shoalhaven – home to Geelong’s newest downhill mountain bike trail – will be topped off with skills demonstrations and scary tricks by mountain bike pros Andrew Haughton and Gaelen Slaney.
The elevated position provides an ideal location for the park’s downhill mountain bike trail, which is designed with varying challenges to cater for novices through to advanced.
Elite Downhill and Enduro racer Andrew Haughton said he loves all things bikes, whether it’s gnarly downhill tracks like this one at Warralily, the local skatepark or gravel rides through the forest!
“I’ve been racing for six years and in that time, it has taken me from all over the country for state and national races, to a World Cup in North America,” Haughton said.
Plenty of delicacies will be available for spook-stars to fill their tummies with, including delicious donuts – filled with jam, Nutella or salted caramel as well as coffee, milkshakes or spiders from the fabulous 50’s themed van of Rockin’ Donuts and Coffee.
For something savoury, attendees can try the fluffy and delicious boas by Chubby Bao or yummy swirled potato on a stick from Tasty Taters.
Fresh from the recent Pet’s Day Out, Dr Nincompoop will be at his hair-raising best as MC, while attendees will also have the opportunity to join the ‘Bed Sheet Ghosts’ ensemble who will be haunting Shoalhaven Park.
Halloween festivities are set to kick off at 10am on Sunday at Shoalhaven Park, Shoalhaven Boulevard, Mount Duneed.
