Skydiver injured at Torquay airport
ONE person has been taken to hospital after being seriously injured in a skydiving accident near Torquay earlier today (Sunday, February 4).
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said paramedics were called to the airport in Blackgate Road just before 5pm today.
Paramedics treated a man in his 30s for lower body injuries.
The man was skydiving alone, not tandem, and the spokeperson said paramedics treated only one person at the scene.
The injured skydiver was flown by helicopter to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said police were not aware of the incident, and no police had been asked to attend.
